Basic Tips to play poker games
Most Poker Games ask players to 'gamble' a nominal amount to begin with as in have the cards dealt. Once the cards are dealt, the betting starts. Players bet into the pot in the middle of the table and it is done in a clockwise fashion.
The player with the highest rank showing is the first to speak and to bet. He can either bet or check. He says 'Check' to pass the decision to bet to the next player who can also check in turn. If all players check, then it marks the end of the round. Everyone on the table opens his cards and the highest hand wins.
Here’s a basic list of how poker hands are ranked. It is based on probability starting from the highest. There are over two lakh possible combinations of cards in a poker hand that one can be dealt.
Royal Flush / Straight Flush / Four of a kind / Full House / Flush / Straight / Three of a Kind / Two Pairs / Pair / High Card. Only after one player places a bet the real betting starts.
